Procedure to become an agent:

To become an agent, you are expected to:

    • undergo 25hrs training at LIC office during prescribed dates.
    • Clear online test on allotted day scoring a minimum of 17/50 marks.
    • On verification of documents submitted , appointment letter issued by competent authority, making you eligible to procure insurance business.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED

  • 3 passport size photographs.
  • Rs 150/-towardstraining fee.
  • Rs 510/- towards exam fee with Service Tax.
  • Qualification xeroxs starting from 10th.
  • Address proof.
  • Pan card(must).

WHAT TO DO NEXT:

  • Attend subject oriented training sessions conducted by the DO every month.
  • Start with procuring business from known circle before venturing into unknown circle.
  • Focus on your core competent area- Salary saving scheme, employer-employee module, keyman, term insurance, pension plans,bima school, bima gram, MWP etc.

REGISTRATION & TRAINING:

Upon successful registration, you will be undergoing 25-Hrs Online Training to make you aware of theoretical aspects of Life Insurance which is very much required from the examination point of view. In addition to ONLINE TRAINING, we would be providing you practical training at your convenient timings to make you aware of Marketing skills needed to succeed in your Career with LIC.

EXAM:

After successful completion of training you will have to sit for pre-licensing online examination conducted by the insurance regulatory and development authority (IRDA). Exam will be of 50 marks and question will be objective. You have to get 17 marks to pass exam.

APPOINTMENT:

After successful completion of the examination you will be appointed by LIC of INDIA to work as an insurance agent by our branch office and you will be a part of the team under the Development Officer.
